Beginner’s Guitar Class 

This class attempts to reach non-Christians through music and friendship. Worshippers may enrol in the class but should be willing to befriend others in the class. Contact person is Wayne Kwan.

Mid-Autumn Festival

This is an outreach event jointly organised with the Chinese Church. The evening will begin with dinner, followed by an interesting evangelistic programme and mooncakes for supper.

EVANGELISE

Alpha

This is an opportunity for people to make friends over a meal, share thoughts and explore the meaning of life. Each session begins with a simple dinner and some light hearted singing and games. A short video which examines a certain aspect of the Christian faith will be shown. This is followed by a time of discussion where everyone can ask questions and learn more about Christianity.

Gospel Sunday

Although we hear the Gospel in sermons all the time, Gospel Sundays are specially set aside for us to bring our loved ones and friends to hear the good news of salvation in Christ Jesus.

ASK Class

This is an exploratory class for seekers who are keen to know more about Christianity. Each session begins with a simple dinner and a short presentation which examines a certain aspect of the Christian faith. This is followed by a time of discussion where everyone can ask questions in a safe environment. The class will be facilitated by Rev Lee Kien Seng.

Membership Class

Those who wish to be baptised, confirmed, or transferred to TWPC-EC will have to attend. Basic doctrines and theological tenets of the Christian faith will be taught and discussed. The class will be facilitated by a team of Pastors and Elders.

BYSID

BYSID, or Before You Say I Do, is a preparation class for those who are considering marriage. Couples will learn the biblical understanding of marriage, the respective roles and responsibilities of husband and wife, communication and conflict resolution skills, managing a family budget, and raising a godly family. Biblical principles undergird these various topics. The class will be facilitated by Rev Lee Kien Seng and Rev Edwin Wong.

 

1st run: 7 April – 5 May (5 Tuesdays)

2nd run: 6 October – 3 November (5 Tuesdays)

Learning to Pray

The theology of prayer will be taught and Christians who wish to pray in small groups but lack the confidence or the know-how will benefit from this course. A short time of prayer will be organised for participants over 3 consecutive Sundays after the course as a follow-up. The course will be facilitated by Pr George Ang and Rev Lee Kien Seng.

Prayer Retreat: Praying in the Spirit

Organised by the Prayer Committee, this retreat helps us understand what it means to pray in the Spirit, especially from the perspective and practice of the Pentecostal denomination. The retreat will be led by Rev Dr Simon Chan who is the former Ernest Lau Professor of Systematic Theology at Trinity Theological College. He is also an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God.

ABC Class

ABC or A Basic Christianity class, is for new Christians who desire to know more about the fundamentals and practice of their faith.

Church Camp at Tanjong Puteri Golf Resort, Johor Bahru

This year’s camp has been postponed to next year due to Covid-19.

The focus for the camp will be on Worship: the church and worship; the God we worship; the people who worship. The camp speaker is Dr Walter McConnell from OMF. A team from Child Evangelism Fellowship Singapore will minister to our children.

Married Couples’ Retreat in Johor Bahru 

This weekend retreat is designed for married couples who want a breakthrough in their marriage as well as for couples whose marriage is GOOD and want to make it BETTER. The retreat will be held in Malaysia to minimise distractions. The retreat programme uses video-based facilitated training to allow couples to have deeper conversations on communication, conflict resolution, forgiveness, sex and love in action. There will be a Marriage Rededication Service after the training where couples can rededicate their marriage. This retreat will be facilitated by Rev Tan Cheng Huat.

 

14 – 16 August (Friday to Sunday)

Programme starts Friday 6pm with dinner.

From Fear to Hope

Organised by the Cancer Support Ministry, you will learn how to extend care to cancer patients and how the latter can overcome fear and have hope in the midst of a difficult journey. The talk will be given by Dr Choo Bok Ai who worships in our church.

 A Study of Colossians

This class seeks to understand the entire message of Paul’s letter to the Colossians against its historical background. This letter is especially important to us because of its focus on the pre-eminence of Christ and how Christians may live in harmony with it, especially when self-made and self-gratifying religions are on the rise. This class will be taught by Dr Tan Kim Huat who is the Chen Su Lan Professor of New Testament at Trinity Theological College.

ABC Class Leaders’ Training

Those who are keen to lead an ABC class are strongly encouraged to attend this one session training. You will be equipped with skills to teach the basics and practices of the Christian faith. The training will be conducted by Pr George Ang.

New DGLs’ Training

The new Discipleship Group Leaders’ training is catered for communicant members who are already in DGs and are keen to learn how to lead a new DG. The training will be conducted by Rev Lee Kien Seng.

Reading the Bible

In this course you will learn how to read the Bible and apply it to your life. You will understand how the whole message of the Bible hangs together and centres on Jesus. With these skills, you can also read the Bible with another person or lead a group in doing inductive Bible study. The course will be facilitated by Rev Lee Kien Seng.
